Is it just me, or food aid more strange?
We have had "Le fragrance" chocolate you inhale. and now, the latest coming craze is crystals.
Tiny crystals that you sprinkle on your food. Not to sound too, mouth-watering, does it?
Crystals, called Sensa granules, improve the smell of food, which means that it tastes better (smell can count up to 90% of what we experience as a food "taste"); they have been developed by neurologist Dr. Alan Hirsch (from scent and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago) back in 2008.
Sensa website claims that:
By increasing the smell, designed to accelerate the Sensa Tastants process and unleash your "I feel full" signal, so you eat less and feel more satisfied.
Sensa is currently sold in the Americas, costs $ 59 for a monthly delivery of crystals; other countries is expected to start selling them soon.Dieters are lured by the promise that they can bear to eat exactly what they eat, without counting calories or exercises: the only change is that the Sensa sprinkle crystals on each meal and snack.
Some experts, is sceptical about the use of the Sensa as a diet aid. Dominic Dwyer (a neuropsychologist at Cardiff University, United Kingdom) said the idea behind the Sensa was good, but the warning:
A aptitväckande smell from food can only make us eat more; This stuff would have to be used very carefully.
What do you think? would you pay $ 59 a month to sprinkle tiny crystals on your mat? would you be satisfied with less food it tasted really good?
